Stokes Croft Muralist, 29 β Climbs as Well
I paint large-scale walls across Bristol and boulder at the climbing gym five times a week. 29, Stokes Croft, very Bristol in all the ways that word implies. Looking for someone who has their own life, their own opinions, and ideally the ability to belay. Either/or is genuinely fine. Must tolerate paint under fingernails as a permanent state.
Contact MeClifton Veterinary Nurse, 31 β Three Cats, Not Negotiable
Important information upfront: three cats and none of them are going anywhere. 31, vet nurse in Clifton, very into the Harbourside, long outdoor walks, and people who take things at a reasonable pace without needing a timeline attached to everything. Very low drama. Genuinely enjoys the outdoors in all weather.
Contact MeBedminster UX Designer, 33 β Left Clifton for BS3
Moved from Clifton to Bedminster and it has been the best decision. 33, freelance UX designer, very enthusiastic about markets, fermented things, and cafes that aren't trying too hard. Looking for someone genuinely interesting who is also okay with hearing about sourdough occasionally. That's a reasonable ask and I'm standing by it.
Contact MeHarbourside Civil Engineer, 36 β Works on the Actual Harbour
I help maintain the infrastructure of this city and I think that's a genuinely interesting job that rarely gets credit. 36, Harbourside, slightly obsessed with how things are built and why they last. Looking for someone who appreciates practical-minded people and finds curiosity about the physical world endearing rather than odd.
Contact MeRedland English Teacher, 28 β Knows Every Pub Garden
I teach English at a school in Redland. 28, from Weston-super-Mare, been in Bristol six years and never leaving. Know every park, every secret pub garden, every spot tourists don't find because they're too busy on the Clifton Suspension Bridge. Looking for someone to share those spots with.
Contact MeMontpelier Sound Engineer, 30 β Works With Bands
I mix sound for small and medium venues around Bristol. 30, Montpelier, surrounded by creative people all week and genuinely good at being the calm one in the room. Looking for someone who can have a proper conversation without checking their phone every few minutes. Apparently a significant ask in 2026.
Contact MeBishopston Occupational Therapist, 35 β Patient by Training
Professional patience carrier. 35, NHS occupational therapist, Bishopston. I'm genuinely interested in people, very low drama, and clear about what I want. Looking for someone who has figured out what they want and isn't going to make that my problem to discover over three months of vague messaging. Direct is good.
Contact MeTotterdown Microbrewer, 27 β Beer Is a Lot of the Personality
I know that's potentially a red flag. 27, work at a microbrewery in Totterdown, genuinely very normal otherwise. Can cycle anywhere in Bristol in under twenty minutes which is genuinely useful information. Looking for someone who appreciates craft without taking it too seriously. Including themselves.
Contact MeSt Pauls Legal Aid Solicitor, 40 β Does the Right Work
Legal aid solicitor based in St Pauls. 40, came to Bristol from Newcastle twelve years ago. Very opinionated, very warm, very good at pub arguments about things that actually matter. Looking for someone with genuine convictions and a tolerance for people who have their own. Interesting over comfortable, every time.
Contact MeKingsdown Documentary Filmmaker, 32 β Between Projects
I make documentary films, currently between projects which means free for several months and then completely unavailable. 32, Kingsdown, decent at explaining complicated things simply, more outdoorsy than you'd expect from someone who stares at screens. Looking for someone who finds that combination interesting rather than chaotic.
Contact MeBristol: Properly Independent, Properly Good
Bristol is one of those cities that people who live there never want to leave and people who don't live there consistently underestimate. The independent streak runs through everything β the food, the music, the nightlife, the way people approach meeting each other.
The Harbourside transformation has been dramatic. Stokes Croft is genuinely one of the most interesting creative areas in the UK. Bedminster is the neighbourhood everyone is moving to right now. And unlike London, Bristol is small enough that you keep bumping into people β the kind of organic social fabric that apps are trying very hard to replicate.
Bristol's Best Areas for Meeting People
- Stokes Croft and St Pauls: Creative, independent, genuinely diverse. Best for meeting people with actual personalities.
- Clifton: More polished, slightly older money. Good restaurant scene, Clifton Village is brilliant for Saturday afternoons.
- Bedminster (BS3): The neighbourhood everyone's moving to. Independent, community-minded, very warm crowd.
- Harbourside: Good for evening walks and spontaneous plans. Mix of ages and backgrounds.
- Totterdown and Windmill Hill: Coming up fast. Very local feel, excellent pubs, genuine neighbourhood character.
